Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has told the Australian public broadcaster ABC that Prince William wants his visit to Australia informal, noting that the Prince has expressed wishes to get close to the people.

"He wants to be as informal as is reasonable -- I don't think that's very easy when you're the prince -- but he does want an opportunity to be pretty informal and get close to people," Bligh was quoted as telling ABC by the Agence France Presse.

The Prince as earlier announced by St. James Palace will be taking on a four-day Royal trip to Australia at the end of March. Prince William is also visiting New Zealand to visit earthquake-devastated areas in the country.

In Australia, the Prince is hoping to see the victims of the disastrous floods and cyclone early this year that had left thousands of houses and business establishments swamped while displacing hundreds of others.

The Queensland Premier said that the Prince’s official visit is not finalized yet but he sure wanted to visit the communities in southern Australia.

"And I think for some people that will be a shot in the arm for their morale," Bligh said, adding that the Prince wishes to " really sit down and talk with some of the people that have been directly affected".

The Prince war earlier reported confirming visiting to Australia at the end of the month following invitations from Prime Minister Julia Gillard and New Zealand’s John Key.

The Prince is coming to Australia on his own without future-bride Kate Middleton to accompany him.
