Princess Beatrice of York cuts Ed Sheeran’s face during mock ceremony

Princess Beatrice of York, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, has accidentally cut Ed Sheeran’s face during the mock ceremony at the Royal Lodge in Windsor. During the event, James Blunt jokingly asked Princess Beatrice that he would love to earn a knighthood and be called a sir. The princess took the ceremonial blade without realising how heavy it was and swung it over her shoulder. She was not aware that Sheeran was behind her and so the blade made a cut in Sheeran’s face.

He was brought to the hospital since the wound became apparent. He then returned to the party with stitches on his cheeks. Sources told The Sun that a couple of the guests said it could have been worse and he could have been blinded in the eye, but Sheeran really played it down.

“Everyone was totally shocked and apparently Beatrice was very upset. But Ed was the perfect gentleman and told her it was just an accident,” an insider said. One of those who were able to witness the accident said that Sheeran could have been blinded because the cut was very close to his eye.

A representative from the Buckingham Palace said that there were still no comments from the royal family. Princess Beatrice has yet to comment, but she already gave her apology to Sheeran.

Sheeran was invited by the UK princess and went with his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn. The multi-platinum singer and songwriter has not yet spoken publicly about the incident, but he has already posted some pictures of the small cut and even pictures taken with this fans. The pictures went viral and many were asking what had happened to Sheeran’s face. Speculations were given by his fans until news about the same has surfaced.

On the other hand, Blunt also has not talked about it in public. It was said that he was there at the party because he was also invited to serenade the royal family.

Apparently, this is not the first time that the singer was involved in such a bizarre misfortune. It was reported that in 2015, his eardrum accidently burst while he was jumping out of the yacht.

Sheeran is now working on his new album that is yet to be released to the public.
