Princess Beatrice’s Salary Revealed During Massive Sony Pictures Hack – Reports
Princess Beatrice’s salary has been revealed by the hackers who targeted Sony Pictures. The British royal, who has worked with the film company since January, is reportedly among the people affected by the recent cyber attack widely believed to be the doing of North Korean hackers.
In late November, a few of the film studio’s movies have been leaked online, with copies of DVD screeners of four unreleased films – “Annie,” Mr Turner,” “Still Alice” and “To Writer Love on Her Arms” – and one current, “Fury,” have been uploaded on the Internet.
The cyber attack revealed an image of skeleton appearing on the computers of the company. The message “Hacked by #GOP” also appeared from the group calling itself the Guardians of Peace, which threatened to release the “secrets and top secrets” of Sony.
Apart from copies of the films, the hackers also exposed the salaries and details of some 47,000 artists and workers of the company, including how much actors Seth Rogen and James Franco got for “The Interview” film, and even the personal information of Sylvester Stallone.
Princess Beatrice was among the over 47,000, according to reports. Prince George’s aunt receives £19,500 [$36,600] for her work as “Intermed Coord, Prod,” which perhaps means intermediate coordinating producer.
As Forbes reports, the salary, address and other details of employee “York, Beatrice” have been leaked along with the thousands of private Sony Pictures information. It is not certain that the employee is the Princess of York, though her start date in the company, January 13, and address appear to match the 26-year-old princess’.
A spokesperson from the Buckingham Palace would comment on Princess Beatrice’s alleged information leak. Though she continues to work in the business sector, the royal press never confirmed where exactly she works.
The hackers are widely believed to be from North Korea. According to reports, the leak was the country’s retaliation over Rogen and Franco’s film “The Interview,” a comedy about the planning of the assassination of North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un. The reclusive Asian country has refused to deny its involvement in the cyber crime.
