'Prison Break' season 5 to premiere before April, will include changes from show's original dynamic
While the official premiere date of “Prison Break” season 5 has not yet been revealed by FOX, the show’s writers are at least giving fans a more specific time frame. Meanwhile, the cast have revealed how their roles have changed since the previous seasons.
The filming of the show has already concluded, meaning it could be ready any day now. But with the lack of anything official from FOX, a fan of the show took to Twitter to ask the writers whether or not the premiere date will happen by March 2017.
The writers admit that they are currently in the post-production processes, and Vaun Wilmott has specifically stated that “It won’t be long now.”
The photo above shows a behind the scenes look of a scene between Dominic Purcell, who portrays Lincoln Burrows, and Sarah Wayne Callies, who portrays Sara Trancedi.
In an interview with Deadline, Purcell shared how this season of “Prison Break” is different from all the rest. “It’s tying into what’s going on in the world today with terrorism,” he admitted. This means that fans can expect that some very familiar themes will be explored, particularly with ISIS and ISA.
He also gave the setting of the film, particularly the situation of his on-screen brother, Michael Scofield, who is played by Wentworth Miller. While the show’s previous seasons left the audience presuming Michael’s death, Purcell confirms that Michael ended up working for a terrorist organisation.
Once Michael expressed his inability to continue, the organisation threw him inside a jail in Yemen, where the show is expected to begin from. “It’s really a riveting, high-tension thriller,” Purcell praised. “It’s an extraordinary, extraordinary show.”
Meanwhilem Miller explained in an Interview with TV Line that even just Michael’s return is “cool, unexpected and justified.” He also touched on how the news would affect Sara, who was his on-screen love interest, especially now that is married to another man.
Sarah remains to be Michael’s “emotional bullseye,” Miller explains. Therefore, the question is not whether or not Michael will find his way to Sara, but rather “Is Michael still the man she fell in love with?”
