From the new “Prison Break” trailer, it seems that the tables will turn, and this time Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) will be planning an escape to free his brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who was presumed dead when Season 4 ended, from supposedly a Middle-Eastern prison.
Michael’s lover, Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), will be informed of Michael’s survival by Lincoln and she would also join him to devise a brilliant escape plan. The two would be joined by C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar), T-Bag (Robert Knepper) and Michael’s close friend Sucre (Amaury Nolasco). Paul Adelstein is also joining the cast.
The trailer starts with Michael Jr. (Michael and Sara’s kid), asking his mother to describe his father, his “real father.” Sara describes Michael as “a storm, appearing suddenly out of a clear blue sky and then disappear just as quickly.”
“Storms, they can come back, can’t they?” Michael Jr. asks his mum Sara.
That is when the scene cuts to Lincoln running to meet T-Bag, who hands over a photo to Lincoln showing a very alive Michael. T-Bag tells Lincoln that his brother may still be alive and the trailer then takes viewers to the moment that they have been waiting for, Michael Scofield. Lincoln threatens the vicious T-Bag that he would kill him if the news turns out to be false.
Lincoln then meets Sara, who is shocked to see the photograph. She reveals that they both want the news to be true, but who do they trust? Lincoln explains there is only one way to find out. Next, the video shows Lincoln packing a bag full of money, and viewers get to see Morocco.
C-Note welcomes Lincoln and takes him to a prison where Michael is. Lincoln promises he would get him out. Then the trailer shows flashes of their escape plan. However, one such scene stands out from the rest. It is when a seemingly broken Michael cries and hugs his brother. The joy of seeing a loved one amidst pain, suffering and torture is evident in Michael’s face.
According to Fox’s new schedule, “Prison Break” Season 5 will be on TV next season. The schedule also features reboots of “The Exorcist,” “Lethal Weapon” and a spin-off, “24: Legacy.” The Wentworth Miller-starrer will debut in early 2017 and reportedly air Thursday nights in the US.
