Troy MacRae, from Elders Alstonville, said interest in Avalon Estate, was rising after the lull prior to the Christmas holidays. “When we first started selling the blocks of land, things went really well,” he said.“We sold 22 or 23 blocks off the plan, which is great for our area.”
He said: “I think we’ve turned the corner now. We’re starting to get inquiries again.”
Overall, there are 800 new blocks in Wollongbar. Other residential projects in the region are also faring well. The new 236-lot Ferngrove Ballina development is underway; offering land sizes from 400 meters to 800 meters.
“Out of the first stage of 45 lots we’ve only got seven left,” sales agent Maree Gahan said. “Just prior to Christmas we released stage 2A, which is a further 24 lots. Building has started on about 15 lots.”
Angels Beach North Estate marketing agent Bob Elks also acknowledged that he had been selling the blocks for the past nine months with considerable success.
“Of the 56 lots developed 29 have been sold, ranging in price from $300,000 up to $500,000, leaving just 27 blocks available for sale with ofers received on some of these,” he said.“Late last year six families moved into the estate to occupy their new homes.
