In the count for who's upping who between Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, it seems that PS4 is still on the winning end.

Despite the policy reversals, which had indeed invited some gamers to turn back to the other side, in terms of gaming, Sony still has the upper hand for exclusive offers.

This may come as a surprise, considering the big titles that Xbox One has announced at the E3 conference, but the power of Sony's PS4 lies in its brand new franchises

Digital Trends reports that, compared to Xbox One's 15 games with eight exclusives in the list, Sony has 20 exclusives, of which 12 are new franchises. To add insult to Microsoft's injury, that's not all Sony has to offer, as the Gamescom is just less than two months away.

"I'm sure you heard from [SCE Worldwide Studios boss] Shu [Yoshida] that he has--just his studios--he has 30 games in development," said Jim Ryan of Sony Europe, in an earlier statement quoted by Digital Trends.

"Twenty of them are going to ship within the first year of the console's life, and of those, 12 are new IP. So there's a lot going on, it's just that we need to keep stuff back. We've got Gamescom for us Europeans--we need to have something to show at Gamescom, don't we?"

Of course, this isn't to say that you should count the Xbox One out just yet, as there have been rumors of Microsoft prepping in another event, Build, where it just might reveal its system for indie game publishing. If this hits off, the Xbox One will also be dabbling in indie territory with Sony.

New psychological horror game uses PS Eye

For fans of horror and psychological games, there's a reason why the PlayStation Eye will come in very handy as an add-on when your buy the PS4.

Daylight, a new psychological horror title from Zombie Studios will be hitting the PS4 and the PC in 2014, but an extra feature will be made available for those who have the PlayStation Eye.

According to Destructoid, an alpha demo revealed that the game--wherein the players can only run from the danger instead of combat against the monsters and phantoms--makes use of the PlayStation Eye to time those scary moments perfectly.

At the same time, it will take a photograph of you at the exact moment of horror, which is a great way to show off the game with your friends the next time you push that Share button.

There may be more to the title than after its testing phase has been done. Perhaps it will be one of the titles that Sony will flesh out at Gamescom?

Meanwhile, check out this Playroom video, which also boasts of what other things the PlayStation Eye can do.

Details for The Order: 1886, revealed

Before the month can even progress towards Gamescom, details for one of Sony's more mysterious games for the PS4, The Order: 1886, were revealed in a recent interview with Ready at Dawn co-founder Ru Weerasuriya.

The exclusive game is said to have used not just new engines catered to the game but also a new way to showcase the game.

According to NowGamer, the third-person action adventure game that has a lot of shooter flavor to it has a linear story, which gamers can experience in a very realistic way.

This is due to both the inclusion of real-life people, places, events, and elements, as well as the use of physical lenses that were built into the engine, to avoid disconnecting the gamers with the scenes, adds GameSpot.

"Games have a tendency sometimes to be too clean and crisp," said Weerasuriya in a statement quoted by Gamespot. "We thrive in the dirt. We just love the fact that it feels dirty. It's filmed in a very realistic way."

So far, the gameplay still remains a mystery, so you can expect that to be revealed at Gamescom, but rest assured that Weerasuriya has been very optimistic and hopeful about the features of The Order: 1886.
