After the much-awaited introduction of the PlayStation 4 to the public, more news comes in from the Sony headquarters. Gamers can now enjoy their PS4 games the way they would in PlayStation Vita, as the games will now be available for digital download.

"We're shifting our platform more and more to the digital side, said Sony's Shuhei Yoshida to The Guardian. "PS4 will be similar to PS Vita in that every game will be available as a digital download, and some will also be available as a disc."

The Guardian also reports that because of the potential of a digital platform in gaming, smaller games might be more affordable or even offered for free. Yoshida's vision, it seems, is to allow gamers to have access to thousand of games, using memberships and packages that are most appealing to the gamer.

This piece of good news is not only great for gamers who want to gain more access to different games through a variety of platforms.

According to Mobile Mag, developers will also have a swell time because they now have a bigger platform on which they could create games and distribute it to a wider scope.

And even though this seems to spell the end for retail stores, Sony assures the public that used games can still be bought and sold without having to deal with any blocking, as previously rumored.

"It's a massively important issue and I understand why it's one that keeps coming up and will keep coming up, because people want to know what the exact stance is," said Sony vice president of Worldwide Studios Michael Denny to Gamespot.

Sony has also reportedly confirmed that used game titles will still be compatible with the PS4. However, there is yet to be any word on whether there will have to be registration fees for playing as a second-hand user.

Whether or not there are additional fees to the used game industry, the entire gaming community can now breathe a little easier as they think of the potential benefits that add-ons and progressions in the gaming industry that Sony has proposed for its next-gen PS4.
