PS4 & Xbox One/Xbox 720 Coming to GameStop Expo, Ultimate Xbox 360 Sale & Unity Game Support for Xbox One
If you have been itching to get your hands on the next-gen controllers and try the two next-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One before they are even available or are delivered as preorders, GameStop Expo should be your next event in line.
Next month in Las Vegas at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, you can have a hands-on experience of the two consoles, and a close-up look at the systems and the launch game titles as well.
However, the specific game titles which are playable at the event have not yet been announced.
GameSpot reports that there is a limited number of VIP tickets--available online through GameStop--which can give you exclusive access to the Q&A sessions of Microsoft and Sony.
For those who just want to go hands-on with the consoles, you can get a general admission ticket for $35 through the GameStop website or in-store. Students can purchase their tickets onsite on August 28 to get a $15 off the regular ticket price.
Xbox One & Kinect get Unity Support
Last week's Build 2013 conference had some major announcements for developers, and among them is the support for the Xbox One and its next-gen Kinect.
For the gamers, TechCrunch reports that this means that they can expect more games and functions that would feature the Kinect, mostly the gesture and skeletal recognition angle.
In addition, this may also pave the way for more games into the Xbox One. But it does not stop there, as Ars Technica reports that, apart from games, it will also now be easier for developers to create more entertainment and apps that can actually run cross-platform for Windows and Microsoft's Xbox One.
Best of all, those who are publishing with Microsoft Studios can get Unity for free, so there will be more games on the Xbox One that would be making use of this engine.
This may also be the start for indie games in Xbox One, as the report also states that developers whose works are being published outside of Microsoft Games Studios only need to pay for Unity.
It's an easy way to publish more games that are cross-platform without having to do a lot of modifications like before, so many developers will surely take advantage of this new feature.
