PTCRB Certified 14.2.A.1.142 For Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z1 Compact And 10.4.C.0.793 For Xperia Z C6606 And C6616

Two new firmwares have been certified by PTCRB for Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z devices, which run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and deliver incremental changes.

14.2.A.1.142 For Xperia Z1, Z Ultra And Z1 Compact

PTCRB has certified a new firmware build version for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact 14.2.A.1.142 that runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and bringing incremental changes and bug fixes.

Based on the details from PTCRB, 14.2.A.1.142 supports Xperia Z1 models C6902, C6903, C6906 and C6943. It also supports Xperia Z Ultra models C6802, C6806, C6833 and C6843 which also made compatible for Xperia Z1 Compact D5503.

According to XperiaGuide, there are two firmwares which have been certified but may not roll out in regular variants: 14.2.A.1.142 and 14.2.A.1.144. There is no confirmation yet if the approved firmware would be the final build running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the cited devices. Owners of Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact may need to wait a little longer for firmware version 14.3.A.X.XXX that runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

10.4.C.0.793 For Xperia Z C6606 And C6616

Another set of firmware builds have been approved by PTCRB for Xperia Z C6606 and C6616 which will not be present on C6602 and C6603 variants. New 10.4.C.0.793 firmware build version also seems to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and users may need to wait quite some time before getting Android 4.4 KitKat due to the priority on the latest models of Xperia Z series.

No updates yet if the firmware will be rolled out or if will be pushed over regular variants as the build version looks like exclusive from network carriers.

Both 14.2.A.1.142 and 10.4.C.0.793 are assumed to be small updates which brings multiple bug fixes, system stability and performance enhancements for Xperia Z1, Z Ultra, Z1 Compact and Z.
