'Purpose': Justin Bieber's ‘Sorry’ video from his new album reaches over 200M views
Justin Bieber certainly has quite a fandom of Beliebers. His followers just proved once again that they will remain loyal and dedicated to him as they showed their support to the singer’s new music album called “Purpose.” Bieber’s music video for “Sorry,“ one of his tracks from “Purpose,” has so far reached over 200 million views on YouTube.
The dance video for “Sorry” now has over 225 million views since it was published on Oct. 22 on Bieber’s YouTube page. It has also received over 140,000 comments from viewers and other YouTube users.
Bieber had announced on his Twitter page that in just a matter of 24 hours since the video was released online, it also received “over 10 million views.” MTV likewise noted that five days after, the video has garnered over 20 million views.
The swift increase in the number of people watching the video is very impressive. It just proved that the Canadian singer still has a huge number of loyal fans from all over the globe. According to MTV, it also clearly showed that people were so excited at that time to get their hands on Bieber’s new album.
The dance video for “Sorry” was shared online ahead of the release of “Purpose” on Nov. 13. The album sold out in its second week of release to a sum of 290, 000 copies. Bieber’s new album outranked One Direction. According to The New York Times, the all-boy band’s album “Made in the A.M” only sold 108,000 copies.
Bieber has been doing the promotional rounds for his new album overseas and with TV show guestings. During an appearance on the “Today” show, the singer was asked by Matt Lauer to describe the tracks from “Purpose” in relation to his personal life. Bieber was asked to comment whether the album, which reportedly took four years to complete, is a reflection of his past emotional struggles.
“It just reflects where I am right now. It's been a long journey, but I think I'm in the best place I've ever been,” Bieber said about his new album “Purpose.”
