'Quantico' Season 2 spoilers: New 'Jessica Jones by night' character to be introduced
The producers are reportedly looking for an African-American to join the cast in “Quantico” Season 2. The new character is said to be in her late 20s and will be a motivated new agent, yearning to prove herself.
[Spoiler alert]
The new character is being described as “Jessica Jones by night, Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty by day,” TV Line reports. The character’s tentative name is said to be Lydia. She is said to be a “sharp and sexy” prodigy who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants in the field.
Lydia can also speak multiple languages. It is speculated that she is also familiar with luhrve. TV Series Finale writes that after Alex (Priyanka Chopra) and her team graduate from the academy, a new group of NAT may be seen in the next season.
Alex has joined the CIA and the plot will now take a look at her life in the new organisation. As previously reported, showrunner Josh Safran has said that “Quantico” Season 2 will seem “slower” because of the nature of the job in CIA. Besides, Alex will not be constantly on the run, like the way it was in the first season. Her name has been cleared and she will now have to look at new challenges in her career.
"I think, if anything, we'd get to spend more time with the characters and relationships, and tackle them that way. And we'll see how her new role [in the CIA] affects them," the showrunner said. He also pointed out that the CIA is quite different from FBI. While the FBI is about honesty, truthfulness and living up to the badge, the CIA is quite opposite.
The showrunner also promised “a surprising twist” in the premiere episode of “Quantico” Season 2. The TV series is set to air later this year, and the producers are yet to confirm an exact release date.
