'Quantico' star Priyanka Chopra bags 'Best India Act' at the Europe Music Awards
Priyanka Chopra recently won at the Europe Music Awards in the category of Best India Act.
Bollywood Hungama reports that Chopra was a Bollywood superstar before hitting the Hollywood scene. She is starring as the sexy and tactical FBI recruit Alex Parrish on the ABC thriller drama series “Quantico.”
Chopra was nominated for “Best India Act” alongside other stars like Indus Creed, Your Chin, The SkaVengers and Monica Dogra. Earlier in October 2015, Chopra shared that she was surprised and happy about having been nominated. She added that as an artist, she should give more time to music. After winning the category, she will have to compete against Diamond Platnumz for Africa – India, according to the same report by Bollywood Hungama.
The Europe Music Awards will happen at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy on Oct. 26. The event will be hosted by British singer Ed Sheeran and international model Ruby Rose.
Bollywood Life reveals that in the current episodes of “Quantico,” Alex Parrish (Chopra) remains on the run after having been framed to be behind a terrorist attack. Her character is getting close and intimate with undercover FBI agent Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin). A teaser video showed Alex apologising to Ryan for everything and thanking him for protecting her. Ryan did not expect Alex to be grateful and the chemistry between the two characters starts. Fans expect their relationship to blossom in the following episodes.
Variety writes that “Quantico” is becoming well-received by viewers in the past few weeks. Recently, the ABC show’s ratings grew 1.5 points, or about 94 percent, which is the biggest increase for any broadcast series telecast in the fall of 2015. In the third episode, “Quantico” garnered four million viewers, which gave it a boost from 5.75 million to 9.79 million in L+3. The 70 percent increase is the biggest for any broadcast program in the fall season.
Fans will be seeing more of Priyanka Chopra on “Quantico” Episode 4 on Oct. 18.
