Queen Elizabeth 'Purred' Controversy: David Cameron To Apologise For The Statement
British Prime Minister David Cameron would reportedly apologise to Queen Elizabeth for saying that she "purred" at Scottish No Vote. Cameron was heard saying that the Queen purred with joy after Scotland voted against independence.
Cameron gave the comment during his visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly."She purred down the line. I've never heard someone so happy," Cameron said, according to reports by ABC. Queen Elizabeth has remained silent about her political views and has not given any statement in regard to which party she supports. Mr Cameron had talked to the media after his private conversation went public and said that he is embarrassed and extremely sorry about it.
"It was a private conversation, but clearly a private conversation that I shouldn't have had and won't have again." said the Prime Minister. Cameron's office is already in touch with the palace.
