The rumors circling on the possibility of the Duchess of Cambridge appearing on the cover of Vogue has been scotched, by none less than the Queen herself.

According to a report by E! News, it seems like the projected U.S. Vogue cover won't be in the works anytime soon, because the Queen vetoed the idea. Because the Queen likes to keep the newest member of the royal family as refined and classy during her early years as a Duchess, she thinks a magazine cover would reflect badly on Kate Middleton.

"She would definitely not be amused, and Her Majesty is a real genius at making people squirm with simply a look or a 'tut, tut." said a royal aide in a report by the Huffington Post. The aide added in a different report that other magazines without a "high fashion" angle would be more appropriate if ever the Queen gives her "go signal" to Kate for magazine covers.

"To be brutally honest, a request to sit down with The Times, the BBC or one of the major American networks to discuss the monarchy in general is one thing. For Kate to be photographed draped in the latest creation of a couture house to, knowingly or otherwise, self-promote her status as some sort of fashion horse is something quite different. I'd say Architectural Digest might have stood a better chance," said the senior royal aide in a report by E! News.

A few weeks ago, it was said that U.S. Vogue editor Anna Wintour was working her ways to lure Middleton to appear on her cover, photographed by Mario Testino. Testino is a fashion photographer who has shot the royal family since Princess Diana's days, and has also worked with top magazines and models around the world.
