Queen Rania of Jordan and Queen Letizia of Spain show off sartorial style
Queen Rania of Jordan and Queen Letizia of Spain showed off their sartorial style at the airport in Madrid, on the first day of the former’s state visit . The Jordanian royal is on tour with her husband King Abdullah II and they touched down at Barajas airport on Thursday. Rania and Abdullah were greeted by Letizia and King Felipe VI on the runway.
The Jordanian couple were given a special treatment as both the couples share a fondness for each other. Normally Felipe and Letizia receive their guests at the El Pardo palace, Hello reports.
Rania looked chic in a smart red tweed coat that featured powder blue trim detailing and stylish blue pockets, which matched her dress underneath. She showed no signs of having travelled for hours. The 45-year-old carried a matching pale blue clutch and high heels matching with her coat.
Her long brunette tresses were left loose in waves. Likewise, Letizia showed off her style credentials and also chose to wear red in a nod to her country. Her striking red bouclé dress in tweed is by one of her favourite Spanish designers Felipe Varela. Her short hair was styled into curls, while she accessorised with a red clutch and matching high heels, Vogue reports.
On Thursday, both the ladies looked stylish for a private dinner that was organised at the El Pardo palace for Rania and Abdullah and Letizia and Felipe, InStyle reports. The group had lunch with King Juan Carlos, who abdicated in June 2014 but still retains his title, and his wife Queen Sofia.
Rania looked stunning in a white and black pleated skirt which was cinched at the waist with a red band. She paired her skirt with a loose white top. It featured long puffed sleeves.
She wore black high heels and her long hair was left loose in her signature style, in waves and centre-parted. Rania carried a black and white bag.
The 42-year-old Spanish queen also channelled elegance in a grey skirt dress. Her dress featured an A-line skirt and a fitted top with peplum detailing near the waistline. It was cinched with a thin black belt.
Letizia also wore black high heels. Her hair was styled into a low bun. She carried a black bag.
