Queensland Mining Corp has announced it recently discovered a new high-grade copper discovery on Horseshoe ML and Duck Creek EPM. It was the first recorded discovery of high-grade sulphides in the area, at its Duck Creek Project, south of Cloncurry.

In a statement, Queensland Mining said the reverse circulation drilling at the Duck Creek project gave out a new high-grade sulphide mineralized zone at depth with important cobalt credits - 36 metres at 2.66 per cent copper, 0.23 grams per tonne of gold and 238 parts per million of cobalt from 198 metres, and 37 metres at 1.72 per cent copper, 0.17g/t gold and 111ppm cobalt from 186 metres.

"The company considers these drill results to be very significant. This is the first recorded discovery of deep high-grade sulphides in the Duck Creek area and demonstrates the exploration potential of our extensive tenement position in the South Cloncurry district," Managing Director Howard Renshaw said.

Duck Creek is situated about 30km southwest of Cloncurry in northwest Queensland. It involves four exploration permits for minerals and 17 enclosed mining leases. It embraces a total area of around 173 square kilometres on the east limb of the regional Duck Creek anticline.

Queensland Mining said the discovery of deep high-grade sulphides in Duck Creek was the first recorded in area. It affirms the exploration potential of the company's broad tenement position in the area.
