Quentin Tarantino admits being a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan
“The Hunger Games” actress Jennifer Lawrence can now pen down a new name to her ever-increasing fan list. Ace director Quentin Tarantino has confessed that he is a huge fan of Jennifer Lawrence and has admitted that he wanted to cast JLaw in “The Hateful Eight.”
“I’m a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan. I think I’ve been on record of saying that her and David O. Russell’s relationship is very William Wyler-Bette Davis like, and that’s a good thing to be like. And I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything,” Tarantino exclaimed during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Tarantino also appeared dismayed as JLaw’s hectic schedule made it impossible for her to star in “The Hateful Eight.”
“She had to do all this publicity on the 'Hunger Games' movies. There was just no f-ing way in the world that she was available. Having said that, I’m glad I didn’t cast somebody that young,” Tarantino added.
The role eventually fell in the lap of 53-year-old Jennifer Jason Leigh. The director too is not disappointed by the outcome and is happy with the fact that he has made the right choice if the ages of the characters are taken into consideration.
Tarantino’s ambitious project “The Hateful Eight” has faced several issues ever since its pre-production days and is still dealing with some issues. The flick that released on Dec. 7 in Los Angeles fist landed in a soup in 2014 when Gawker leaked a copy of the script for the flick, Variety reported.
In addition to this, the recent screenings of the flick projection problems during the 70mm Roadshow engagement of the film adversely affected the business over the extended weekend, the website reported. However, “The Hateful Eight’s” massive opening saved the day for Tarantino.
As for the JLaw-Tarantino partnership, fans and followers can only hope for positive updates.
