Actress Rachel Bloom’s portrayal of love struck character Rebecca Bunch in CW’s pilot musical-comedy series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” has earned her first nomination at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. Bloom recently recounted in an interview her reaction after finding out she has been nominated for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.”

Bloom shared in an interview with Vanity Fair about the prediction that “Jane the Virgin” actress Gina Rodriguez made when the two of them met at the upfronts. “She said, ‘You’re going to get nominated for a Golden Globe. And if you do, you owe me a steak dinner’,” the 28-year-old actress recounted.

In the official 2016 Golden Globe Awards nominations list, the other nominees in the “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy” category Gina Rodriguez for “Jane the Virgin,” Jamie Lee Curtis for “Scream Queens,” Julia Louis-Dreyfus for “Veep” and Lily Tomlin for “Grace and Frankie.” Bloom revealed that she is really excited to have steak dinner with Rodriguez even though they are competing for the prestigious award.

“I’m paying, it’s her choice where we go,” Bloom shared. To find out if she received a Golden Globe nomination, Bloom recounted that she woke up early to watch the announcement of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

After hearing her name in the nominations list, Bloom revealed that she ran into the bedroom and woke up her husband, Dan Gregor, to share the exciting news. Bloom further added that she is still in a dream-like state following the announcement of the 2016 Golden Globe Awards nominees because the title of Golden Globe-nominee will be attached to her.

Meanwhile, Bloom described CW President Mark Pedowitz as her hero and champion in an interview with Los Angeles Times. “I’m really, really proud that Gina Rodriguez and I are repping the CW family,” Bloom further added.

As for the next “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” episodes, Bloom teased in an E News TV Scoop report that the characters of the show will start to realise all of the lies they have been telling to themselves as well as the denial they have been in. Furthermore, the viewers can expect more musical numbers and appearances from Tovah Feldshuh, who portrays Rebecca Bunch’s mother, when “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” returns with brand new episodes starting Jan. 25, 2016 at 8/7c on the CW Network.
