Radamel Falcao's Agent Blasts Louis van Gaal, Liverpool Eyes Ezequiel Lavezzi Deal
Radamel Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes has blasted Louis van Gaal for not naming the striker even in the 18 man squad to face Southampton at home. The match was subsequently lost by the Red Devils. "They have an absolutely brilliant player, one of the very best in the world, who would, without any doubt play 90 minutes of the match, every time, with any other club", Mendes told the press.
He went on to admit that the future of his client is not very clear. He has absolute believe that Falcao would represent a top club in Europe next season. Whether it is Manchester United or not is not clear to him. Incidentally Monaco, who hold Falcao's rights, have demanded £44m to make the loan deal permanent.
Fellow new arrival at Old Trafford Daley Blind has warned his team mates not to take their places for granted. He thinks that a lot of high profile players have come to the club and that has increased the competition for places in the starting lineup. The defensive midfielder thinks that the manager does not care about price tags or reputations when he selects his team.
Meanwhile Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is desperate to offload Mario Balotelli and sign another striker. Balotelli has been the biggest high profile miss of the last summer transfer market. Rodger is trying to right the wrong this month itself. He has set his eyes on the Paris Saint-Germain Argentinian striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, 29, as a potential replacement.
Liverpool are hoping that a transfer fee of around £8m would be enough to land the Argentine international. The deal is not straight forward though. It is believed that should the French side be able to secure the services of Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan, 26, then only they will let go of Lavezzi. Manchester United are the other interested party hopping to land Gaitan to pair along with Angel de Maria on the wings for them.
