Rafael Nadal Fires Back at Roger Federer, Tired of Swiss’ Complaints at Wimbledon Open

World's no.1 Rafael Nadal finally responded to Roger Federer's call to speed up the pace between points, as the Spaniard stressed he's getting tired of all the criticisms he receives for violating time limitation. Nadal said during a news conference before losing to Australian teen sensation Nick Kyrgios on Tuesday.

Nadal might already have been eliminated from the competition, but he left a mark that is going to further spice up his rivalry with Swiss Maestro. During the presser, the Spaniard voiced out his frustrations for receiving criticisms - especially from Federer - everytime he used too much time between points (the latest was his match with Lukas Rosol in the second round).

The 14-time Grand Slam winner insisted that he's now tired of hearing all negative feedbacks for breaching the rules, adding imposition of these regulations should be left in the hands of an umpire.

"It comes a time when this little song gets everyone tired. There is an umpire, let's let him take those decisions, that's what he is there for. People should stop coming to press conferences always repeating the same things" Rafael said in the presser via Tennis USA.

Nadal admitted that everyone is entitled to his own opinion, including Federer. However, the King of Clay believed such violation has no ill-effect to tennis in general, because the sport just keeps on growing in numbers.

Nadal, who failed to reach the quarterfinal round of the Wimbledon Open for the third consecutive time, even dragged another member of the fabled Big 4 rival into the controversy by accusing Novak Djokovic of committing time violation more than anybody else.

"Obviously, when Federer talks is Federer talking, but right now it's me saying this. Everybody would just turn things around and make them sound the way it better suits their position. Also, I don't think I am the only one violating the rule. Novak Djokovic too has been warned many times. Actually I think he has been told off many more times than I did" Nadal added.

More than a Game

With Nadal bombing out of the Wimbledon Open after losing to Kyrgios 7-6 (7/5) 5-7 7-6 (7/5) 6-3, his rivalry with Federer is going to get even more intense following his comments.

Retaliation is the best way to repel aggression, and their ongoing war for tennis supremacy is certainly more than a game for both Nadal and Federer. Shots have been fired by the Mallorcan Bull, now it's time for the Swiss Maestro to answer it on or off the court.
