Rafael Nadal is honored to be associated with Armani and it is making him some nice spare change at the same time. The 25-year-old Spanish tennis champion showed off his ripped physique for the ad campaign.

In an interview Wednesday night on The Late Show with David Letterman, Rafael talked about the U.S. Open which kicks off on Aug. 29 to Sept. 11, 2011. Rafael shared that to stay in shape, he practices everyday and there are 6 matches for him to win in order to reach the finals. Rafael is the defending U.S. Open champion and the number 2 ranked tennis player in the world.

Nadal revealed in the interview that after defeating his rival Roger Federer in Wimbledon 2008, those matches with Federer helped him become a better tennis player. He further revealed that he started playing tennis when he was only 3 years old and his uncle, who is a tennis coach, became his mentor. Rafael was trained well for he was able to prove and become well-known as one of the best tennis players around.

Nadal grew up and was trained in the island of Majorca. According to Rafael, it has a very calm surrounding and it is the best place in the world for him. He also shared in the interview a racquet that works well for him as he plays tennis. He uses the brand Babolat tennis racquet all his life.

Nowadays, Rafael is going to be very busy as he prepares for the U.S Open which is just around the corner. He has a new autobiography entitled "Rafa" and he has also unveiled on Aug. 25 the new Armani Jeans campaign held at Macy's Herald Square in New York City.
