Everyone knows any World War II movie with Rachel Weisz in it makes everything dramatically better.

Known for her roles in "The Mummy," "Constantine," "About a Boy" and "Enemy at the Gates," Weisz has again landed a big-time role in "The Railway Man." Weisz is set to play the role of Eric Lomax's second wife, Patricia Wallace. Lomax will be played by Oscar-winner Colin Firth.

"The Railway Man" is based on the true story of British 2nd Lt. Eric Lomax, captured by the Japanese when Singapore fell in 1942. Lomax, second lieutenant of the Royal Corp Of Signals, was forced to toil on the ''death railway'' in Burma along with other prisoners of war.

This take on the real-life tale of World War II veteran Eric Lomax is directed by Jonathan Teplitzky. As for Lomax's eponymous autobiography, Andy Paterson and Frank Cottrell Boyce have already adapted parts of it into the film of which include Lomax's capture, his torture under the Japanese army and the forced labor he was pushed into on the ''death railway''.

So given the role of Lomax's second wife, would Weisz be able to act the part of the psychological cure to her film husband, Colin Firth?

As for the real wife Patricia, it became evident in Lomax's autobiography that their marriage in 1983 encouraged him to confront his hatred and giving him the courage to write to the man responsible for his torture.

For the role of the young Lomax, Firth has to give way to "War Horse's" Jeremy Irvine who undoubtedly did a little research for the part.

"Lomax suffered cruel and horrible treatment," says the actor to the British Publication, The Daily Mail. "I've been studying what happened to him and it was grim."

Shooting for the film will kick off February of next year in Australia. Viewers will expect to see the film come out by the year 2013. Fans of the ever talented Rachel Weisz must know that this is not her only current project. Weisz is in "The Bourne Legacy" and is also currently working on "Oz, The Great and Powerful."
