'Rainbow Six Siege' Technical Test 2 to fix matchmaking, hitboxes and more
After developer Ubisoft had announced the Technical Test Servers for "Rainbow Six Siege," it already managed to release one update. It will launch the Technical Test 2 for the game, which will include fixes to matchmaking, hitboxes, item rarity and map availability.
Ubisoft made the announcement for the game's Technical Test 2 through Twitter. The tweet mentioned the pre-loading of the second technical test, which focused on the 1-step matchmaking and patching inaccurate gun fires.
According to the official patch notes posted in the game's Technical Test 2 subreddit, the second update for the server will launch Wednesday to all countries at 3 a.m. AEST / 19:00 CEST / 18:00 BST / 1 p.m. EDT and will end on Friday at 12 a.m. AEST / 16:00 CEST / 15:00 BST / 10 a.m. EDT.

1-Step Matchmaking
1-Step Matchmaking will introduce different in-game menus and online flows that Ubisoft wants to be solid at launch. It will allow for a one-step matchmaking, hence the name, that will allow players to have an interactive matchmaking environment. The feature will test the process of changing player loadouts while matchmaking a game.
Hitbox changes
Another bug has been posted in the game's subreddit that caused the L85a2 to shoot where players did not aim. Reddit user TheGodlyNoob reports that the bug occurs with Sledge and Thatcher when using the said gun.
According to Reddit user Krizu, the bug also happens with other guns like the Famas and only affects Acogs. This bug causes players not only not to hit damage enemies because of faulty hitboxes but also to lose their games.
The game community has been asking for improved hitboxes and Ubisoft finally grants them their wish. In the latest Technical Server, Ubisoft will lay down the foundation of its work on restructuring the hitboxes for all operators present in the game.
Although the change is a work in progress, its goal is to makes sure that everything not part of the game will not be coded as hitboxes. These include extended pieces of clothing, pouches, earmuffs, bags and accessories.
Item rarity
Ubisoft will introduce Alpha Packs in the future so they have decided to include a new way of classifying all its customisation items that made sense with its drop rates. Item will finally have a placeholder that will indicate its rarity and they can include:
- Common
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
Map availability
Ubisoft will only make three maps available in the Technical Test 2 since it will not focus much on bug hunting. The three maps available in the "Rainbow Six Siege" Technical Test 2 include:
- House
- Consluate
- Chalet
