The Subiaco Football Club will wave their purple bra's in celebration of the second annual Purple Bra Day Game on June 13 at the Medibank Stadium.

The club said it was honoured to take part in opening the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA's Purple Bra Day leading up to the main event on June 18.

The Lions will be up against the Swan Districts for the much sought Haydn Bunton Cup on the said day.

Subiaco said they were hoping that all their fans, even those who haven't witnessed a WAFL game before, would watch some local talents while advocating BCFWA.

"It was not until two of our player's mums were diagnosed with breast cancer that we became aware of how many families in WA are affected by challenges of by this cancer," said Subiaco's CEO Jeff Lind.

"This prompted the Subiaco Football Club to become actively involved with BCFWA through the annual fundraising campaign, Purple Bra Day.

"SFC is proud to be a supporter of BCFWA and we hope that our profile in the WAFL competition can create more awareness in the community and at the same time assist in fundraising."

The game starts at 2.15pm.

To show their support, spectators are requested to wear purple. They can also wear a purple bra over their clothes to be at par with the cause.

BCFWA will gather the proceeds from the gate and donations received on the day. The profits will be used to finance personalised support and care to women and ther families who are distressed by breast cancer.

Purple Bra Day is the major yearly fundraising campaign of the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA.
