The much awaited theatrical trailer of Bollywood movie 'Besharam' is online now and has created quite a buzz. The movie, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda, looks like is a mass entertainer and storywise has nothing new to offer.

The characters and scenes are heavily inspired by other Bollywood movies. The opening scene of the 'Besharam' trailer is that of Ranbir Kapoor's character, Babli, peeing in the yellow mustard fields, singing "tujhe dekha to jaana sanam" from Shan Rukh Khan's movie 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' (DDLG).

Ranbir is sharing screen space with his parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, for the first time in this movie. They are not playing his parents in 'Besharam' but are Inspector Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and head constable Bulbul Chautala (Neetu Kapoor), while his character is the street-smart thief Babli.

Citing sources, DNA reported that director of the movie, Abhinav Singh Kashyap, had initially decided to call Ranbir's character Pepsi. However, Abhinav has denied that and said, "Babli was always are original choice for the name of Ranbir's character in the film."

"There is no limit" to Babli's shamelessness in 'Besharam' (Besharam literally means 'shameless.') "The word 'Besharam' has different connotations which I want to make my audience understand. 'Besharam' may be 'sadak chaap' (street boy) but he is gem of person, with a golden heart," Abhinav told DNA.

Also, Abhinav clarified that he is not pitching Ranbir's character as an anti-hero. "In fact, he is the hero of the masses who will, through Besharam, entertain the lowest common denominator, the poor man who wants to take break from his sad life to have a hearty laugh."

'Besharam' will be Ranbir's second big release after blockbuster 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. He is seen as the next superstar of Bollywood and is currently one of the most bankable Bollywood actors. The popular Bollywood actor, however, was missing from the launch of his movie's trailer as he is currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' in Sri Lanka.

"This was not a pre-planned launch. Ranbir is in Sri Lanka and that is why he is not here," Abhinav said. "We are roughly two months before the release of the film. This was a part of the promotion cycle."

The movie is due for release on October 02, 2013 and is expected to do excellent business at the Indian box office.
