Rapper Azealia Bank's New Single Was Originally for Beyonce (Listen)
After exchanging ugly Twitter spats with Lily Allen, rapper Azealia Banks is ready to prove that she can make her way on top of the album charts once her debut record 'Broke With Expensive Taste', which has been delayed for over a year, hits record stores any day soon. Renowned Trance DJ Paul Oaken and Pharrell Williams are some of the producers of her hit singles.
The Harlem rapper recently admitted that her latest single 'ATM Jam' featuring Pharell Williams was meant for Beyonce, but found the track to be inappropriate for Queen Bey to perform.
"Well I actually went to Miami to do a feature for Beyoncé and originally he gave me the song because he wanted me to write it for Beyoncé," she said in a radio interview.
"She wanted to rap or something and wanted me to write a song, and I couldn’t come up with anything that I thought would be appropriate for her just because I’m so raunchy, but I wrote the song. I wrote like some verses on it and he (Pharrell) was just like ‘you should just keep it".
ATM Jam will be the second official second single off her debut album. Meanwhile, Banks is crossing over the rave scene as DJ Paul Oakenfield produced her new song Venus (Ibiza Edition).
This is her second time that the rapper is collaborating with club DJs to produce an electronic dance music out of her singles. She made a cameo on electro house music DJ Steve Aoki's No Problem video.
Banks wowed the crowd at Glastonbury last June and received positive reviews from critics and fans. Looks like the 22-year old rapper will not be defeated anytime soon.
