'Ray Donovan' season 3 episode 6 recap: Ray changes his mind about Paige’s offer on ‘Swing Vote’

“Ray Donovan” Season 3 episode 6 “Swing Vote” aired on Sunday. It featured Ray (Liev Schreiber) reconsidering the offer that Paige (Katie Holmes) made in the previous episode.

In “Swing Vote,” Ray and Paige direct their attention to their National Football League, or NFL, plans and start a working relationship. Ray did everything he could to ensure that his NFL plans will become a success by helping Governor Verona (Skipp Sudduth) win the election.

Ray also told his wife Abby (Paula Malcomson) that he is tired of working for people who do not deserve the services and benefits that he provides. Abby will learn more about Ray’s new endeavours involving the Finneys but will have difficulty dealing with her husband’s employer. She would be disrespected and used by the Finneys to manipulate Ray.

At one point, Ray had to leave Verona’s party due to an emergency call from his brother Terry (Eddie Marsan), who said that he had been discovered. Terry appeared to be hallucinating. Conor (Devon Bagby) was also shown getting exposed to drugs and sex after joining Mickey (Jon Voight), Ray’s father.

Meanwhile, Father Romero (Leland Orser) also suggested that he take a long trip to Bakersfield to win back Teresa’s (Alyssa Diaz) love, in an attempt to gather more information from Bunchy (Dash Mihok) regarding the murder of Father Danny.

In episode 5 titled “Handshake Deal,” Paige told Ray not to take her father’s offer and settle for a better deal she had for him instead. Paige offered to give Ray a stake in her NFL plan. Ray ended up double-crossing his employer Andrew Finney (Ian McShane) to work with the latter’s daughter.

Ray was then ordered to retrieve a phone containing evidence against Governor Verona’s affairs, which also involved Paige. Based on the voicemails, Paige clearly had alliances with the politician. He was able to find the phone in the possession of a university student. Ray told Andrew that the phone was destroyed and proceeded to gain 3 percent of the NFL deal.

The next episode titled “All Must Be Loved” will feature Mickey and Bunchy going against the Minassians, according to Zap2it . Father Romero will also be getting in touch with Ray. Episode 7 of “Ray Donovan” will air at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, on Showtime.
