'Ray Donovan' season 5 premiere 'Abby' spoilers: Ray participates in anger management

The "Ray Donovan" series, starring Liev Schreiber as Raymond "Ray" Donovan, Paula Malcomson as Abby Donovan, Jon Voight as Mickey Donovan, Eddie Marsan as Terrence "Terry" Donovan, Pooch Hall as Daryll Donovan, Devon Bagby as Conor Donovan, Dash Mihok as Brendan "Bunchy" Donovan, Steven Bauer as Avi Rudin and Kerris Dorsey as Bridget Donovan, will have an upcoming episode titled "Abby," which will air in Australia on Tuesday, Aug. 8 on Foxtel. It will also air in the US on Sunday, Aug. 6 on Showtime. It will show Ray starting his court-ordered anger management sessions after engaging in a bar fight. Read on to learn more.

According to the show's official website, "Ray Donovan" season 5, episode 1 will feature Ray attending anger management sessions after he was ordered by the court to do so when he got into a bar fight recently. His sudden outburst was related to a family tragedy. Ray will also meet his new employer Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon).

Meanwhile, Daryll, Mickey and Bunchy are busy preparing for Maureen (Tara Buck) and Terry's wedding. As for Conor, he will start to adjust to military school and being away from home for the first time. Plus, Bridget will meet a mysterious acquaintance in New York. "Abby was written and directed by David Hollander.

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) lists the following actors and actresses as guest stars in this episode: Alison Ball as a florist, Patrick Cox as Danny, Michel Gill as Doug Landry, Phillip Allen Hall III as a ringside VIP guest, Alyssa Diaz, Holly Lynch as a saleswoman, Lili Simmons as Natalie James, Graham Rogers as Smitty, Ryan Radis as Beckett and Keir O'Donnell as George. They will be joined by other "Ray Donovan" cast members such as Katherine Moennig as Lena Barnum and Avi Rudin.

'Ray Donovan' episodes: 'Rattus Rattus,' 'Las Vegas,' 'Dog Walker' and 'Sold'

The episode before "Abby" was the "Ray Donovan" season 4 finale titled "Rattus, Rattus," which aired on Sept. 18, 2016. It was also directed and written by David Hollander. It featured the Ray trying to pit the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against the Russian mob. Meanwhile, Sonia (Embeth Davidtz) gave Agent Barnes (Michael McGrady) some incriminating evidence. As for Mickey, he tried to cash in on the Campos fight. Plus, Ray turned desperately to his family for some much-needed assistance.

"Ray Donovan 5" airs in Australia on Tuesdays at 8.30 pm on Foxtel. It airs in the US on Showtime every Sunday at 9-10 pm EST. The next episodes after "Abby" are "Las Vegas," (air date: Aug. 13), "Dog Walker" (Aug. 20) and "Sold" (Aug. 27).
