Australian comedienne Rebel Wilson has promised “some pretty cool surprises” as official host of the upcoming 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Without revealing too much of her plans however, the first time host said "it’s going to be the experience of a lifetime" and she vows to have fun while at it and hopes to rub the fun with millions of viewers expected to tune in for one of the most exciting awards events in Hollywood.

Millions of Australians are expected to join Hollywood to see what their fellow Aussie, Rebel Wilson has to offer as she officially hosts the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on April 14, 2013. The 27-year old Aussie actress and stand-up comedianne, who is known as an advocate for weight loss and nutrition campaigns, is facing a lot of pressure for her upcoming gig.

Chosen for her wits, Wilson has promised to do what she does best and she expressed hopes that she wouldn’t disappoint. This is not her first time to host an awards show. She had already hosted ARIA, the Australian version of the Grammys but Wilson was quick to admit that it could be a differently league from what she would do at this year’s 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly in an interview, Wilson revealed her thoughts on her upcoming gig.

“I cohosted one once — the Australian version of the Grammys, called the ARIAs — but this is, like, a whole different league. The audience is so much bigger — and so are the celebrities who come. So it’s pretty cool to be attempting to host it,” said Wilson in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Aware of the pressure coming her way, Wilson admitted talking to some of the award show’s former hosts.

“The other night, I spoke to Sacha Baron-Cohen, and also to Sarah Silverman. They gave me some pretty funny advice: “Don’t tell MTV what you’re going to do.” That’s what they said: “Have some secrets up your sleeve.” I don’t know if my comedy is as outrageous as theirs, but it’s an interesting point,” stated Wilson.

The first time MTV host added: “I also talked Aziz [Ansari, who hosted the show in 2010]. He told me to test out my material beforehand, though he wouldn’t let me do it on him — he wanted it to be a surprise! And he said to have lots of things planned, because any number of things could go wrong during a live show.”

Rebel Wilson has no qualms to admit her thoughts on the show.

Wilson also added: “So now I’m thinking, It’s actually, like, really difficult to host this!”
