Recalling The ‘American Idol’ Winners and Where They Are Now [PHOTOS]
'American Idol' will always serve to be one of the most popular talent search competitions ever made on television. It all started in 2002 where Kelly Clarkson became its first ever winner.
Then by 2003, there was Ruben Studdard who emerged as the winner and was able to record four albums. 2004 came in with Fantasia Barrino wholived a very tough personal or professional life. It was last August of last year when she was accused of being involved in an affair with a married man. The troubled American Idol winner was able to release three albums.
In 2005, Carrie Underwood became the winner and was considered to be one of the most successful discoveries of the popular competition. Apart from her major awards, she was able to do a lot of hosting stints and some acting gigs as well. She also tied the knot with Mike Fisher, a popular hockey player.
Taylor Hicks was the one who won the fifth season and plays 'Teen Angel' for the 'Grease' tour production. This was followed on by the younger batches of winners starting with Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee Dewyze, and the latest Scotty McCreery.
Some of them still appear on the current seasons of the show as guest artist where they also get to promote their tours and albums.
