Redfoo: Dean Ray Will Win ‘The X Factor Australia’
“The X Factor Australia” will crown Dean Ray as the winner, according to Redfoo’s prediction. The American hitmaker, who is also a judge on the show, thinks that the rocker from Melbourne will take home the title on Monday.
It’s now down to the Top 3 – Dean, Marlisa Punzalan and the sibling trio Brothers 3. All have their own strengths, but only one of them stands out.
“Dean is a standout,” Redfoo told AAP. “I’ve always liked him as the second best because he has presence, talent and entertainment value and he’s my pick for sure.”
If Dean is second best, the first is perhaps Reigan Derry, Redfoo’s own act who has been eliminated on Friday. With Reigan already out of the competition, Redfoo is left with no one to mentor on the show anymore. His two other acts, Jason Heerah and Rochelle Pitt, were eliminated earlier in the show.

At just 22 years old, Dean already has had a rough past. He left home at 15 to “earn the right to become a man” when he turned 18. He is a recovering alcoholic who had been a rehab patient.
Dean has proved time and again that he likes risks and he can take any genre. During the home visits, he sang Abba’s classic “Dancing Queen,” an unusual song choice for a rock singer, and managed to make it his own. And during his “X Factor” audition, he sang “Bette Davis Eyes,” impressing Redfoo was so much that the LMFAO singer stood up on the judges’ desk to show how much he liked his performance.
“I like artists who I think will survive against other pop acts that are in the world right now,” Redfoo continued. “I think Reigan can do that and Dean can do that.”
Speaking of Reigan, Redfoo isn’t sure if Sony Music will offer her a recording contract, but whatever will happen, he vows to help her with her career.
“You have to wait and even if she gets picked up by Sony, I am going to be the first person who wants to work with her and that may be mentoring, advising or consulting,” he said. “I am invested in her career emotionally … and the stuff that she can do is incredible.
“She can dance, perform, sing, play the guitar and the piano and she looks amazing,” Redfoo praised the 26-year-old former Scarlett Bell singer.
“I don’t know what else you’d want in an artist.”
“The X Factor Australia” will air its final live showdown on Sunday, with the results airing on Monday.
