Scunthorpe lad Reece Mastin was announced as the big winner of Australian version of "X Factor."

Last Tuesday, Mastin was crowned as winner after his memorable duet performance with Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue. The two sang "Kids" and the crowd and judges applauded in the superb performance.

The 16-year-old teenager Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire vowed to go back to his hometown after winning the competition for a concert. Reece moved to Australia six years ago and said that his time in the X Factor competition was the best time of his life.

Crowned as the X Factor winner is the best birthday gift for Mastin whose birthday falls today.

Reece Mastin won cash prize and a recording contract with Sony. His self-titled debut album will be released on December 9. It was reported that his debut single "Good Night" tops the Australian iTunes chart.

Mastin beat father-of-four Andrew Wishart and Johnny Ruffo in the final of the competition.

His mentor was judge Guy Sebastian - who won the first Australian Idol in 2003.

Spice Girl Melanie B, Boyzone's Ronan Keating and Australian singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte completed the judging panel.
