Reese Witherspoon desires to see Elle Woods as US President in 'Legally Blonde 3' [VIDEO]
Reese Witherspoon thinks the world is ready to see Elle Woods of “Legally Blonde” entering the Oval Office as President.
Witherspoon appeared on a recent episode of “Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe” and talked about a possible threquel to "Legally Blonde." She said she would like to see her character, Woods, as President if there is a third film in "Legally Blonde" series.
“I think we’re ready to see Woods and see what she’s up to lately,” she said while talking about her character's return in a new film. “A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it."
“I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women," she said, adding that she thinks it’d be "kind of a cool thing to have her [Woods] to be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office."
The “Wild” actress also mentioned that her opinion alone won’t be enough to lure or convince the makers to consider making “Legally Blonde 3.” She said “Call MGM,” or Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the producer of “Legally Blonde" series.
Witherspoon last appeared as Elle Woods in 2003’s “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.” The film saw Witherspoon heading to Washington D.C. to try to pass a ban on animal testing. This film grossed US$124 million (AU$170 million) worldwide.
The original “Legally Blonde,” released in 2001, made US$141 million (AU$194 million) worldwide.
