Reese Witherspoon's embarrassing arrest last month has changed her image from a Sweet Southern belle to a Hollywood diva who has an arrogant sense of entitlement, and her stepmum is doing nothing to stop it. In fact, Tricianne Taylor claims that the public has now seen the "Legally Blonde" star for what she really is.

When Reese and her husband Jim Toth was stopped by an officer in Atlanta in the early morning of April 19, the actress was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after disobeying instructions from the arresting officer. Jim was charged with DUI.

It was her behaviour during that incident that had created controversy. In the police report and as seen in the video released afterwards, Reese refused to cooperate with the officer, even playing the celebrity card.

"Do you know who I am?" she smugly asked the officer. "You're about to find out who I am. You are going to be on national news."

She has since apologised for the incident, saying that she was "deeply embarrassed" about the things she said.

Her stepmother wouldn't let her get away with it so easily, though.

Tricianne has admitted that she has never met the 37-year-old actress, but that doesn't stop her from lambasting her stepdaughter, saying Reese is "not the sweet, innocent girl next door that her fans think she is."

In an interview with Enquirer, Tricianne claims John Witherspoon almost didn't walk Reese down the aisle during her wedding to Jim in 2011 because she was "so awful and disrespectful" to him.

"Reese shows very little respect to her father, and he's been ostracised by her because she's so angry that he married me," Tricianne, who married John in 2012, said.

But it looks like Tricianne has a deeper reason for exposing Reese.

Last year, Reese's mum Betty took legal action against John for bigamy, and filed a restraining order against Tricianne. Betty said that her husband told her he does not remember marrying his new wife as he was suffering from early onset dementia.

Betty told USA Today that her that while John did not remember getting married, Tricianne "clearly knows now that she is married to a man who is not divorced." She also feared for her husband's and her family's safety, and was concerned that Tricianne would try to borrow money as John and would transfer her marital assets.

The restraining order was granted, which therefore forbid Tricianne from using the last name Witherspoon for any purpose.

"You are further enjoined and restrained from obtaining credit or attempting to obtain credit posing as the wife of Dr. John Draper Witherspoon. You are further enjoined and restrained from taking, sequestering, or converting any personal property owned by Dr. John Draper Witherspoon, or acquired by him at any time," the order read, which was obtained by RadarOnline.com.

Tricianne is allegedly seeking $100,000 from Enquirer in exchange for exposing Reese's secrets.
