Reese Witherspoon Made A Boy Carry Her Back Pack With A Promise Of A Kiss In Seventh Grade
Reese Witherspoon had to carry a backpack for the first time in her life for her role in the movie "Wild." The actress shared a story from seventh grade when she made a boy carry her backpack by promising to kiss him behind the tents.
Reese Witherspoon was on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to promote her new movie "Wild." The movie is based on a true story, and the actress plays the role of the protagonist Cheryl Strayed in the movie. The actress shared some of her experiences while filming the movie and a part of that conversation can be seen in a video on the official YouTube channel of the TV show.
The video begins on a light note with the host asking the actress why she would torture herself with such a role while she can choose scripts that can take her to Hawaii or a set that has a pool. Reese Witherspoon told Jimmy Fallon she found the script of "Wild" exciting because it was based on a true story about a woman who had multiple problems in her life, and she decides to walk a thousand miles by herself.
Jimmy Fallon then asked the actress about her camping experience. Reese Witherspoon confessed she only went camping once when she was in seventh grade, and a boy named Larry Underwood carried her bags for her at that time in exchange for a kiss. Reese Witherspoon said she felt sorry for Larry after having to carry a backpack in the movie "Wild." The actress only realised how heavy a backpack is in the movie and felt bad for Larry who had to carry two backpacks in seventh grade.
Reese Witherspoon also said she fell down backwards a couple of times while filming the movie because of the sheer weight of the backpack. But the actress felt all the hardships were worth it for the movie because it was an important story to be told. "Wild" is slated to be released on Jan. 22, 2015 in Australia.
The cast members of the movie "Wild" include Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl Strayed, Laura Dern as Bobbi, Gaby Hoffman as Aimee, Michiel Huisman as Jonathan, Brian Van Holt as Ranger, Kevin Rankin as Greg and Thomas Sadoski as Paul. Reese Witherspoon said she has not seen a lot of women take on such a role that is mostly done by men.
