Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley lead cast of HBO’s ‘Big Little Lies’ series [Video]

Award-winning actresses Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley will play the three mothers of kindergarteners on the HBO limited series based on the 2014 crime novel “Big Little Lies” of Aussie author Liane Moriarty.

Witherspoon plays Madeline Martha Mackenzie while Kidman plays Celeste Wright for the seven-episode series that is set to premiere in February 2017. Meanwhile, Woodley will play the role of the young single mother Jane Chapman who is in the centre of the plot.

HBO gave Moriarty fans a preview of the television adaptation of the novel with an official teaser video released over the weekend.

The HBO began filming the “Big Little Lies” series in Monterey, California, in January with director Jean-Marc Vallee.

The cast also include “True Blood” actor Alexander Skarsgård, “Revenge” star James Tupper, “Parks and Recreation” actor Adam Scott, “Enlightened” star Laura Dern and “Californication” actor Zoë Kravitz.
