Reese Witherspoon On Vogue Cover, Talks About Stepping Out Of Her Comfort Zone In New Movie 'Wild'
Reese Witherspoon graced the cover page of the latest issue of Vogue magazine where she wore a crimson red sleeveless dress. The 38-year-old talked about her upcoming movie "Wild" where she played an experimental role.
The blonde-haired actress who often played sweet girl roles has stepped out of her comfort zone and has taken the challenge to play a troubled divorcee named Cheryl Strayed in the upcoming movie "Wild." It is based on a true story of a woman who hikes alone to the Pacific Crest Trail after she gets divorced and loses her mother at the same time.
Reese's character "dabbles with heroin and one-night stands," and Reese had no qualms in doing it. "I wanted it to be truthful, I wanted it to be raw, I wanted it to be real," said the actress in an interview for the magazine.
The "Water For The Elephants" actress aims to change people's perception of her through this new movie where she feels she has tried to do something she has never done before. "When people underestimate me, it's actually a comfortable place for me," revealed the actress.
Reese says that she has also gone through similar experiences in her life and that is why she can relate to Cheryl's character easily. The actress got divorced from her longtime partner Ryan Phillippe in 2007 but remarried Jim Toth in 2011. She further said that though she has not lost her mother like Cheryl's character, her maternal grandmother died due to aneurysm, which came as a shock to their family.
Apart from "Wild," Reese will also be seen in various upcoming movies. "Inherent Vice" and "Don't Mess With Texas" are just a few of them.
