Reese Witherspoon: Will the Disorderly Conduct Arrest Damage or End Her Acting Career? [PHOTOS]
Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon recently showed an upset "Celebrity Entitlement Syndrome" and it led her to end up in jail for a disorderly conduct charge. It cannot be helped to think that Reese's arrest will either damage or end her acting career, but industry insiders and analysts believe the Oscar-winning actress can bounce back from this negative publicity.
The 37-year-old American sweetheart lost her cool when her husband, Jim Toth, was arrested for drunk driving. Reese allegedly asked the arresting police officer "Do you know my name?" and then further stated "You're about to find out who I am."
According to some industry experts, Reese's good girl image may have gone bad but it will no be for long. "She has always come across as humble and sugary sweet but now she has left some fans with a sour taste in their mouths. One incident like this won't damage her good-girl image permanently but if more incidents like this occur, she may lose the love and support of fans," celebrity expert Dorothy Cascerceri told the Daily News.
Paul Dergarabedian, a Hollywood.com box-office analyst, stated that what happened during the arrest made Reese Witherspoon sound arrogant since the actress used her celebrity status to get away from the arresting officer's charges.
"Her fans, they don't look to Reese to act in this way. Just that line 'Do you know who I am?' It has such a negative connotation that she thought she was above the law," Dergarabedian explained. As for Reese's movies in the box-office, Dergarabedian thinks what celebrities do in their private life do not really affect the performance of their films in the box-office.
"But it is best to stay out of the limelight in this negative way," the analyst added. However, Reese Witherspoon appeared on the red carpet premiere last Sunday night in New York City for her latest film "Mud" with the released statement apologising for her behaviour during the arrest in Atlanta.
Actress Reese Witherspoon is recognised for her Oscar-winning performance in the film "Walk the Line" as well as her other famous films like "Legally Blonde," "Election" and "Cruel Intentions."
