In the previous episode of "Reign," Francis confessed to Mary that he loves her. The two kiss and hop in the bed to be more physically intimate. The events of "Left Behind" made Francis to step out from his shell of doubts and finally accept his feelings for Mary.

In the upcoming episode, "Fated," King Henry will announce that its time Francis and Mary are wed. This time, Francis also has no objection to that. He can be seen telling in the preview video of episode 8, "Fated," "This is our chance right now to be together."

Nostradamus' prophecy, however, isn't going to give the story of these two young love-birds an early, fairytale kind of end: 'And, they lived happily ever after'. Queen Catherine plotted against Mary after Nostradamus told her about her son's death if he gets married to Mary. According to the preview clip of the upcoming episode, it is one fate that cannot be changed.

In "Fated," Mary will hear it from Nostradamus himself, the kind of fate that awaits Francis if he gets married to her. It looks like Queen Catherine tells Mary that she will be the cause of Francis death, and Mary will directly ask Nostradamus, what did he see?

Mary is likely to decide on something, which might alter her relationship with Francis, permanently. The Queen of Scotland showed in "Left Behind" to what extent she can go to protect Francis. It is highly unlikely that she will now go ahead with the wedding on the date that King Henry had marked.

Also, in the upcoming episode, which is the mid-season finale, Kenna will inform Catherine about Diane's plans to make Bash legitimate. It is likely that Kenna will reveal that Diane is plotting to get King Henry and Catherine's marriage annulled. According to the synopsis, this information is going to backfire on Kenna.

Official Synopsis of "Reign" Episode 8 "Fated": "Nostradamus tells Mary of his prophecy that one among them will die soon, which causes Mary to make a decision that will forever change her relationship with Francis. Clarissa becomes bolder with her endeavours, while Kenna informs Catherine of Diane's plan for Bash, which ends up backfiring."

Laurie McCarthy has written the episode and Fred Gerber is the director.
