‘Reign’ Season 2 Update: Mary Emerges As Queen Of France, Premiere Date, Synopsis of ‘The Plague’ [VIDEO]
Queen of Scots Mary will be taking the reins of France in her hands in Episode 1 of "Reign" Season 2, which is titled "The Plague." King Henry is dead. Francis galloped away to be at Lola's side despite Mary warning him about the fast spreading plague. In the absence of Francis, Mary will emerge as the leader, the Queen of France, to keep her subjects safe and to keep the foes at bay.
"The black death has returned to plague our lives," Mary can be seen saying in the trailer of the premiere episode of "Reign" Season 2. "We're prepared and in the best situation to survive." Queen Catherine, however, does not seem confident that they are prepared. Mary is also seen ordering the guard not to raise the gates, without her permission, and to secure the other gates. She ordered the lowering of the gates after Francis crossed them to go to Lola.
The highlight of the extended trailer is Mary saying to Queen Catherine, "I'm the queen of France and you are my subject." For the most part of the first season, Queen Catherine was seen plotting against Mary. The dialogue of Mary underlines the change of fortune and who holds the power in Season 2. The trailer also reveals that Francis reaches Lola's place and gets to know that he is now a father of a baby boy. "You've a son," Lola is seen telling Francis. It will be a difficult journey back to the castle for Francis, Lola and their new born child.
"Reign" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 02, 2014. Here is the official synopsis of "Reign" Season 2 Episode 1, "The Plague": "The new King and Queen of France, Francis and Mary are plummeted into chaos after the Black Plague ravages the land and creeps inside the castle, threatening lives and the stability of their new rule. New and murderous foes are introduced as nobles grasp for power, pressuring Mary -- and Catherine -- even as the death count rises. Meanwhile, Kenna and Bash find themselves separated; Kenna's life endangered as she risks all to save their young ward. Greer is forced to watch Leith move on with a new love and is shocked to realize he's involved with her fiancé's daughter."
