It is the coronation ceremony of Francis in "Coronation," episode 3 of "Reign" Season 2. The ceremony is going to take place at a time when France, which is still recovering from Black Death (plague), is in a state of famine. There is also the religious and political unrest, according to the synopsis of the episode. Also, it says, "Mary oversteps her bounds."
The episode will feature the round 2 of Mary versus Lord Narcisse. The greedy Lord is likely to find evil ways to benefit from the food scarcity and fill his coffers. Mary's ways to feed the people and Lord Narcisse's self-interests are set to collide. In the last episode, Lord Narcisse arrived at the castle, seeking to find answers about his son Edward's death. He discovered that his healthy son was pushed into a room, where the people infected with plague were kept. He blamed Nostradamus for his son's death, though he knew that it was Mary's orders that the guards were following. And, Mary discovered that it is Lord Narcisse who ordered his son to kill Voland and his family members. Mary and Francis put up an act to stop Nostradamus from being quartered. Lord Narcisse walked away with Leith's land. This time Mary may have the upper hand.
The episode 2 of "Reign," "Drawn and Quartered," brought Francis back to the castle. He came back with Lola, their newborn and his new friend Conde. Mary was not very happy seeing Lola and the baby. She asked Francis not to claim the baby as his own. However, at the end of the episode, Mary suggested to Francis that he should give Lola's boy his name. Also in the episode, a maid was possessed by King Henry and he spoke to Francis. The new episode will see Francis' being suspicious that his father is haunting him because he murdered him.
