Police reports released on Thursday wrote that Shawn King, wife of TV personality Larry King, attempted suicide late last month in Utah by overdosing on prescription drugs.

Celebrity news website TMZ.com posted the file. The report described a Utah police officer entering the house of 50-year-old Shawn King on May 2, entering the bedroom, seeing her being treated by the paramedics and noticing "multiple pill bottles, all of which were empty on the bed".

It also cited "sculptures, a purse, other various books" and a letter "which appeared to be a note left by the victim."

"It is unknown whose writing this letter was in, however wording on the letter led me to believe that (King) had intentionally taken the quantity of pills," the officer wrote in the report, which is labeled "attempted suicide."

Labels on the bottles show multiple drugs including Ambien, Klonopin and Clonazepam and many of them were empty.

A witness described to the police how King "is always depressed, but she had not mentioned anything that she would want to hurt herself or take her own life."

Because of the unconfirmed reports that came out on Wednesday, CNN talk show host Larry King released a statement in response to the news of a drug overdose.

"I am extremely supportive of Shawn. Reports that we have fought are absolutely false. I love her dearly," King said in the statement.

"Our marriage is still together and I am staying very close to our children, who we love immensely. We shall go through this difficult time intact as a family."

The attempted suicide of King's wife comes after recent announcements that the couple's marriage hit rock bottom. In-mid April, they filed for divorce but called it off a month later after they reunited.
