Revenge Season 3, Episode 2 ("Sin") unfurls new stories involving new characters in the ABC drama. Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) should forgive, says her "conscience" Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann). Jack Porter (Nick Wechsler) wants her to care for the innocents, too. Daniel Grayson (Josh Bowman), meanwhile, gets a new job. The big question remains: Which revenger shoots Emily, as seen in the premiere episode?

Much is asked of revenger Amanda Clarke, as two characters plot mysterious games in Revenge Season 3. What are Aiden Mathis (Barry Sloane) and Patrick Harper (Justin Hartley) up to? Either one of them could shoot Emily Thorne on her wedding night. Aiden could have a heavier reason, though: the love of his life is marrying someone else over revenge plots.

Could Daniel's new boss Margot (Karine Vanasse) have anything to do with the shooting? That may be too far out, even for viewers who think out-of-the-box. But Margot is probably going to bring in some trouble, unwittingly derailing Emily's plans.

Who shoots Emily Thorne in Revenge Season 3 -- Aiden Mathis or Jack Porter?

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Emily said she had to ask the writers who she's saying sorry to in the shooting scene. The Revenge Season 3 premiere flash forward peek was a work in progress when production filmed it. But now the cast knows the shooter's identity.

"It could be many, many different people and we've just found out who it is. I think it's going to be really, really surprising," Emily said.

Jack Porter could be the gunman, Nick has joked in a separate interview. Jack is very angry, Nick said. Viewers saw this in the premier episode, where he kissed, and then pulled away from poor, hurting Emily.

"It's a really intense, awful moment between them because he has so much anger - and rightfully so," Emily told EW. "And I think you know in her wildest dreams she'd love for him to understand," Emily continued, but added, "someone as pure as Jack (can't) understand this kind of anger and sadness."

Aiden Mathis may or may not be playing Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) in Revenge Season 3, Episode 2. But if he's not, he could very well be the wedding gunman.

Patrick Harper remains mysterious in "Sin." Could he be a surprise character with Emily Thorne connection? In a recent interview with showrunner Sunil Nayar, Patrick's story may be centred on only Queen V.

"(Victoria Grayson's) life is so fraught with the history that she shares with these people. With Patrick, there's almost a clean slate," Nayar said.

How about Nolan Ross? He's repeatedly asked Emily Thorne to rethink her plans and live in a way her father would be proud of her. As Emily's conscience, could it be that he will declare "Enough!" at some point in the future? That will be quite tragic for sibling love.

Revenge Season 3 continues. Episode 4 ("Confession") airs on Sunday, Oct. 13. Emily Thorne will use Paul Whitley (James LeGros) to extract a confession from Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny). Check out the slideshow to see the revengers' posts on Tumblr.
