God-bashers Deicide are back with a new record, "In The Minds of Evil." Fans waited for this record for ages. But did it really live up to their expectations?

In 2011, Deicide released "To Hell with God" and it was a decent album in the death metal genre. At least it was honest to the genre of pure, f**king death metal. Similarly, the band's "The Stench of Redemption" featured crazy riffs with Glen Benton's (lead vocals and bass) unrelenting ferocity on the vocals.

Benton is known for bashing organised religion, left, right and centre. The atrocious lyrics are bound to anger a God or two. But, Benton doesn't seem to give a damn about it. With "In The Minds of Evil," he proved that he is not going to stop anytime soon.

"In The Minds of Evil" saw the departure of talented guitar player, Ralph Santolla. But, Glen Benton teamed up with Kevin Quirion (guitars), Steve Asheim (drums) and Jack Owen (ex-Cannibal Corpse, guitar player) to churn out "In The Minds of the Evil."

The album opens with "In The Minds of Evil." The song starts with this quote, "Some men just want to watch the world burn."

It is a good album starter with monstrous riffing. It is like unleashing the horror of hell. It is certainly packed with wickedness, but offers nothing new to the listener.

"In The Minds of Evil" is a very long album and Benton is monotonous on this record. It looks like Deicide wishes to reach out to a grand audience and gain commercial success. The listener will miss the charm of old school death metal as only songs like "Trample The Cross," and "Thou Begone," give you the feel of the old Deicide records.

Jack Owen and Kevin Quirion teamed up to deliver chugging riffs (thankfully, they didn't experiment and made this album another core, djent crap). Steve Asheim packed a mighty punch and grooved as Owen and Quirion churned out those solos.

"In The Minds of Evil" is not one of the finest Deicide's albums as it loses the anger-factor just when you are done with listening to it.
