'Rick and Morty season 3' spoilers: Squanchy could return in second episode
Adult Swim shocked the world by airing the first episode of 'Rick and Morty season 3,' titled 'The Rickshank Rickdemption,' on April Fools’ Day. With the season premiere out of the way, fans have to wait until the summer for the second episode titled 'Rickmancing the Stone.'
During the post credits scene of 'The Rickshank Redemption,' Tammy, last seen fighting Squanchy during 'The Weddeding Squanchers,' (finale of season 2) is revealed to be alive and unharmed. It hinted at the possible return of the cat-person that likes to indulge in auto-erotic asphyxiation masturbation.
After revealing herself as a deep cover agent for the Galactic Federation, Tammy proceeds to shoot Birdperson, Rick's best friend, before asking the Gromflomites to crash the wedding. Squanchy tries to save Rick and his family by pulling out one of his teeth and breaking it in half to consume a green liquid substance which turns him into a giant version of himself. At the end of 'Rick and Morty season 2,' it is hinted that Squanchy may have died in his fight against the Gromflamites and Tammy, especially when Rick drops the photo of himself, Birdperson and Squanchy.
Rick and Morty season 3: Is the horny cat-person returning soon?
However, it seems like the short orange cat-person with a tiny blue nose and a naked tail is set to make his highly-anticipated comeback during the second episode. It remains to be seen if Squancy would be re-introduced as the bigger and muscular version of himself in the aftermath of drinking the green liquid from his tooth. At this stage, fans have to wait until the summer since Adult Swim isn't releasing new episodes any time soon (See tweets below).
'Rick and Morty season 3' is off to a spectacular start. After the Galactic Federation briefly invaded Earth, Summer and Morty summoned the Council of Ricks in the pursuit to save their grandfather. Rick C-137, in typical Rick fashion, managed to transport his mind into one of the Concil members, crashing their meeting and killing all the other Ricks. As described by The Independent, the Smiths were reunited at the end of the episode.
"There is, however, one last obstacle: one of the Ricks has Summer hostage. C-137 bluffs about letting Summer die and Morty points a gun on his Granddad, eventually pulling the trigger. But, that’s just another part of Rick’s plan. The fake gunshot distracts Councillor Rick, allowing real Rick to kill him. The trio destroys the Galactic Federation currency, leading to Earth being freed and the Smiths all back together."
'Rick and Morty season 3' will return with 'Rickmancing the Stone' later in the summer. There is no definitive release date for the second episode. The makers of the show tweeted the following after an eventful return last Saturday.
