2012 has only just begun and there are a lot of engagements and weddings to take place. Is Ricky Martin one of the lucky celebrities to tie the knot this year?

In March 2010, Ricky Martin finally came out of the closet announcing his sexual orientation. In that same year, the Latino singer also announced his support for homosexual marriage.

"What I want is for them to say no to discrimination so that equality among us human beings may be a reality in my country," shared Martin in an interview by Foxnews.com.

From that point forward, the "Livin La Vida Loca" singer has been actively participating in fund events and shows that support homosexuals. In doing so, Ricky Martin had received an award from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). Martin's award was the Vito Russo prize simply for promoting equal rights for the gays in the community.

So how is he faring with his "sexuality" apart from taking part in the gay community? Well, let's just says the singer is happy. Ricky Martin has been with his beau Carlos Gonzalez Abella for almost two years.

"I only wanted to be free and I can say that today I'm free," said Martin at the GLAAD event last 2010. "My partner, my boyfriend, Carlos. You're the greatest."

Having adopted twins and being literally together every time they have, it comes as no surprise that they finally decided on marriage but wait, is it marriage these two are really planning on? A source quoted in a Spanish-language newspaper, the "El Nuevo Dia", claimed that Martin would be tying the knot on January 28 at New York City with boyfriend Carlos.

However, before his fans start squealing in delight, it seems the claims were all false. Ricky Martin may be happily in love but he isn't tying the knot soon enough.

"It is a completely incorrect report," shares Martin representative in an interview made by E! Online. "Ricky Martin has no set plans to marry."

Well, Hollywood is home to a lot of rumors and false reports so this wouldn't be the first one. As for Ricky Martin, he'll be busy on his Broadway show set on April 5. The wedding bells can wait.
