Germany is bathing in their win in the World Cup but Rihanna is getting all the attention.

The singer-actress is at the center of controversy after she was photographed kissing and touching the World Cup trophy, a major no-no in FIFA guidelines. The organization has previously ruled that only winners of the tournament and heads of state may be allowed to handle the said trophy yet, the controversial singer was largely documented to having handled the trophy.

The Guardian.com is ripe with pictures of the pop star with the trophy and several players of the German football team. At first, a picture of Rihanna lifting her top revealing a black leather bra during Germany's win over Argentina at the Maracana generated a lot of buzz. The Bajan beauty was also shot with the team after the final whistle blew.

At the after party, a couple of Germany players in Lucas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger planted kisses on her both cheeks as she held the trophy. She even had a selfie with the World Cup trophy which had netizens questioning the ruling on the no-touch policy on the World Cup trophy.

It appears that FIFA has already relaxed its rulings on the touching of the 18-carat trophy. Aside from the artist who shot up to fame with her song, Umbrella, the players' wives, girlfriends and children were also pictured with the trophy during the celebrations in Rio de Janeiro. Nevertheless, the buzz was largely because of the celebrity who also took to twitter her happiness to take part in the celebrations and her achievement in hoisting the Cup:

The pop superstar from Barbados tweeted regularly about the tournament and was visible during the whole festivities. She has snapshots with the match winner Mario Gotze and also posed with Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger and Arsenal player Lukas Podolski. Before the final match she met Brazilian legend Pele and supporters speculated if she was supporting a South American team in the finals which was not the case as she was through and through for Germany.
