Rihanna Hosts Diamond Ball, Own Alcoholic Father Thrown Out For Drinking And Tripping
Rihanna's efforts to get her father to stop drinking are in vain. A new report claims that the "Good Girl Gone Bad" singer's father got thrown out of the Diamond Ball Rihanna hosted even before he got the chance to see his daughter because he caused a scene after drinking and tripping.
Mail Online reports that Rihanna's dad was thrown out of the Diamond Ball after causing a ruckus. The 61-year-old admitted it himself that he got tipsy and tripped over a chair. Even though it was an accident, wherein somebody left a chair and he stepped back and fell over, security deemed that he was too drunk to be in the bash. Unfortunately, his falling was seen by many and he was approached by security to be escorted out. When he tried to protest that he could not leave the premises yet without at least seeing his daughter, the security could not be swayed, saying it does not matter and that he should stop making a scene and cause Rihanna embarrassment. "They said, 'please do not make a scene it will reflect on your daughter,'" the father detailed.
Rihanna's dad also thinks the security was called by his ex-wife Monica in the first place, although he is not blaming him. The father claimed that he was sad how the events unfolded, but he got no one to blame but himself. "I'm sad at how it ended, of course; I should have never taken that first drink - or any drink for that matter," he said, as quoted by Mail Online.
RiRi's alcoholic father also detailed how good of a daughter Rihanna is to him, despite his limitations. He told Mail Online that Rihanna shelled out $58,000 for a Malibu rehab program last year so that he would not go to jail. He was arrested after a visit to California. Aside from this massive rehab program, Rihanna also flies him to LA every three months so that he could get urine tests done. To help him avoid alcohol, she also has the mini-bar emptied before he arrives.
Rihanna hosted the first ever Diamond Ball in order to support her Clara Lionel Foundation at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills. Her guests were famous personalities. Celebrities who came to the ball were Salma Hayek and her husband Francois-Henri Pinault, Ellen Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery, Brad Pitt, Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, and Big Sean, among others.
