Rihanna's New Grill on Teeth: AK 47! [PHOTOS, and Other Celebs in Grills]
The Queen of Selfies Rihanna might be gunning for new controversy here. The "Bad Girl" is definitely living up to her name and has posted two pictures of self on Instagram showing a small gold gun ( AK 47 here) grilled to her teeth.
The caption of one photo reads, "she + AK." Is the singer referring to AK 47 gun here or is it just one of her drunken outbursts which she will forget in the morning?
The caption to the other photo reads, "Up watching Cocaine Cowboyz #KillinDeseHeauxz #phuckyogrill #ilickthegunwhenimdonecuziknowthatrevengeissweet."
The above apparently translates to "I lick the gun when I am done (with Cocaine? Only Rihanna can decipher it completely) coz I know that revenge is sweet."
Rihanna has been spotted with grilled teeth earlier too. She took to controversy to new level when she got a grill of Cross for her teeth (see pictures). Riri is a big fan of gold grills in her teeth and mostly prefers it but the star has also posted a picture of herself on Instagram where her lower front teeth were embedded in glittery diamonds.
Other pop stars Miley Cyrus and Beyonce have displayed their grills on teeth in recent past. According to an interview with Harper Bazaar magazine, Miley Cyrus is a fan of the grill and carries three grills around, including her "chic" one and her "chill" one.
Beyonce is also responsible for making a comeback with grills. The star has sported grills of gold when she was just 19! We can see a picture of her on Instagram where she is sporting gold teeth in her teens. In her recent past the singer was seen sporting vampire-style grills among many others.
In hip hop culture, a grill (also front or golds) is a type of jewelry worn over the teeth. Grills are made of metal and are generally removable. According to Wikipedia - the grills began to be worn by hip hop artists in the early 1980s, and upgraded during the 90s in New York City, but they became more widely popular during the mid-2000s due to the rise of Dirty South rap and the more mainstream pop culture status Hip Hop attained.
